09.09.2024 New Feature: 2-Factor Authentication (2FA)

04.09.2024 New Feature: Crypto Tax Agent (CTA)

The Blockpit Crypto Tax Agent (CTA) is a powerful feature that allows a tax advisor to access their client's Blockpit accounts to prepare their crypto tax returns.

The Crypto Tax Agent can create and manage integrations and transactions similar to the classic Blockpit user, thus completing the data entry for clients (simple Blockpit users) and generating final tax reports. This gives users (clients) the advantage that their tax advisor can access their shared Blockpit account securely and without sharing their password.

29.08.2024: Tax Module & Logic for Italy LIVE

Blockpit now fully supports Italian users!

Weโ€™re excited to announce the launch of our new Italy tax module.

The Italian tax logic introduces some unique features:

  • LIFO Valuation Method:
Italy uses the LIFO method, meaning the last assets purchased are the first to be sold. This is our first implementation of LIFO.
  • Non-Taxable Crypto/Crypto Transactions:
These transactions arenโ€™t taxed, but the challenge is to carry forward the cost basis to the new asset, ensuring gains and losses are only calculated when the asset is sold for fiat (e.g. Euros) or NFTs (similar to the Austrian logic).

Also our new tax Report page, with tax results and the Tax Optimization tool, is also now working within the Italian tax framework.

Thank you for your continued support.

Best regards
Team Blockpit

09.08.2024: New Transaction Label "Token Migration" added (DE)

We are pleased to introduce the long-awaited transaction label "Token Migration".

The Token Migration label makes it possible to transfer acquisition data (date and cost) of an outgoing asset A to an incoming asset B within an integration. Token migrations also do NOT trigger any directly taxable events.

The Token Migration label is currently only supported for Germany (DE). Support for other tax jurisdictions will also follow soon. In this case, please use alternative workarounds to migrate your assets until the label is fully supported for your tax country.

> Transaction Details & Editing of Transactions

16.07.2024: Important Update in Sync Behavior of Exchange Integrations: Automated Re-synchronisation of Exchange Integrations from now on disabled

Exchange Integrations now function the same as Blockchain and Wallet Integrations. The Re-synchronization of transactions can therefore only be triggered manually and on your own. This prevents retroactive changes to transactions in Exchange Integrations due to โ€œunwantedโ€ updates from exchanges and thus ensures the immutability of your transaction data.

More details in the following article:

> How can to synchronize integrations or re-synchronize missing/incorrectly imported transactions?

16.07.2024: Feature Upgrade: Sync Missing Exchange Transactions

A new form of Sync has been implemented for Exchange Integrations that allows a re-synchronisation of missing/deleted or incorrecly imported transactions. This feature is already available for Blockchain and Wallet Integrations.

Allows synchronization of all missing transactions from 0 (start date of your integration)

This new feature brings more flexibility in the use of integrations and makes existig integration more accessible to upgrades.

Why or when to re-synchronize?

The synchronization of transactions is based on the recognition of unique Transaction IDs (e.g.: transaction hashes - visible in the Advanced Transaction Details).

The re-synchronization of integrations can be used:

  • To import deleted transactions.
  • To import missing transactions.
  • To import incorrectly imported transactions after they have been deleted.

> How can to synchronize integrations or re-synchronize missing/incorrectly imported transactions?

๐Ÿ”— Blast (BLAST) Blockchain added ๐Ÿ”—

๐Ÿ”— Scroll (SCROLL) Blockchain added ๐Ÿ”—

12.07.2024: Kraken Integration Update: Reward Transactions fully supported again

Thanks to a technical upgrade of Kraken, Reward transactions (staking, etc.) are again imported distinctively via API into your Blockpit integration.

This can lead to mismatched balances due to duplicate transactions within your transaction list if missing reward transactions have already been added manually beforehand. Manually added transactions can be identified using the filter option: Import Type=Manual and subsequently excluded or deleted to correct deviating balances.

29.11.2023 Maintenance Work at Blockpit ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

30.11.2023 Update: Maintenance Mode has ended 13:00 (CET)

On Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, we will be conducting updates on our database. During this time, Blockpit will be in maintenance mode.

28.11.2023 ๐Ÿš€ Solana Integration BACK ONLINE ๐Ÿš€

Exciting news! Our Solana Integration is now back online in Blockpit!

Why the delay?
We were reliant on Solscan for an extended period, but they unexpectedly shut down some of their services. Solana's unique ecosystem presented challenges, including missing standards and NFT collection address calculations.

Our solution?
We now access NFT data through a Solana Full Node, using our algorithms to calculate collection addresses. This change allows us to provide more accurate data and integrate new protocols seamlessly.

Thanks for your patience. Stay tuned for more updates!

14.11.2023 New Accointing Migration Tipps & Tricks

The following Tipps & Tricks have been added to our migration article.

Data Migration Guide from Accointing to Blockpit

Unable to map Scam Tokens?
Should you be unable to map scam tokens due to a missing selection option, you can map them to the placeholder: "SCAM - Scam Token Placeholder".

Unable to map a specific NFT collections?
Should you be unable to map a specific NFT collections due to a missing selection option, you should know that unknown assets will be automatically created by our database if you create your Integration as Synced Wallet upfront. This means you may want to cancel the migration process temporarily, add those wallets that include the unknown assets as Blockchain/Wallet Integration single by single to allow the auto-creation of your assets first. Then you can now start the Migration process anew.
Your assets should be selectable and the primarily created Integrations can be deleted.

If your NFTs are still not selectable as collection, you may want to use our Generic NFTs as placeholder.

09.11.2023 Accointing Migration Bug Fixes

Please note that to completely fix the issue with duplicate Synced Balances, a deletion and re-import might be necessary.

09.11.2023 Maintenance Mode/Migration from Accointing to Blockpit

Weโ€™d like to update you that following November 8th's maintenance, the app is back up and running, but we are still fine-tuning some elements, which may result in isolated issues. Your patience is appreciated!

Additionally, weโ€™re refining the data migration process from Accointing to Blockpit. This also includes the integration of custom assets and custom price data. We recommend waiting until next week to proceed with the migration, as we will be resolving a few remaining bugs by then.

Thank you for your understanding!

27.06.2023 New Feature: Tax Data in the Transaction List

From now on, transactions with outgoing assets will show the cost basis, value and potential profit/loss. The FIFO consumption method is also taken into account. Thus, for the first time, values from the tax report can be viewed directly in the web app.

It should be noted that before each transaction analysis, a recalculation of the latest tax report or else a review of the transactions should be triggered via the corresponding button.

Profits/losses for outgoing assets are displayed even if there has not been a realization (example: Non-Taxable outflow of 1 Bitcoin), as these are the potential and not the actual profits/losses.s.

For the display of actual gains/losses in the transaction list, a "Cost Basis View" is planned to indicate whether a gain/loss is taxable or not.

06.10.2021 New Feature: Unrealised Gains [BETA]

The BETA version of the long-awaited Unrealised Gains feature allows identifying the holding period of all existing asset tranches. Unrealised gains are positive as well as negative gains. If an asset tranche has been held for more than 365 days, for example, it will be displayed on which depot this tranche is located and whether a sale of this tranche would enable positive or negative gains (profit or loss).

For the USA, a sale of a tranche that has been held for more than 365 days falls under long-term capital gains. According to FIFO (Frist in-First out), the oldest tranche within a portfolio is always sold first!

Info: For the full version of this feature, the so-called grouping of tranches older than 365 days and tranches purchased on the same day is planned. It will also be possible to hide particularly small tranches (dust).

22.09.2021 New Feature: Set Custom Currency Rates on transactions

It is now possible to set custom currency rates on all transactions that were not traded directly against FIAT. (For transactions that are traded directly in FIAT, no external price source is required due to the direct valuation)

Also, transactions that respond with a "Missing FIAT value error" on report calculation...

Example: "There is no fiat value for Asset on MM/DD/JJJJ. Please double-check the fiat value of the asset or contact our support team."

...can now be edited accordingly and therefore missing FIAT value errors are solved by adding a currency rate for the affected asset. This can be done on the Transactions page by simply clicking on the asset and entering a currency rate that reflects the market price (coinmarketcap.com) at the time the transaction happened.

More information on how to use the new feature and how to solve errors, in general, can be found in this help center article.

09.08.2021 NEW: Trade/Swap and Lending Support for ERC20 (Ethereum) Smart Contracts

The existing Ethereum based (ERC20) import logic has been fundamentally redesigned, which now also imports Trades/Swaps for the following protocols via your ERC20 public key:

  • Uniswap V1, V2, V3

  • Sushiswap

  • 1Inch V1, V2, V3

  • Metamask

  • Uniswap V2 Clones (LinkSwap, Xvix, CroDefi, SakeSwap, ChickenSwap, DxDao, ShibaSwap, ...)

- Please note that Liquidity Providing is not yet included!

And also provides full support for the following Lending applications:

  • Compound.finance

  • Cream.finance

+ Optimization of other ERC20 & DeFi transactions. These are recognized as deposits and withdrawals and can be extended manually according to the following instructions.

Info:

For all ERC20 depots created before the release date (09.08.2021 17:00 UTC), existing transactions will not be affected by the update. However, new transactions on existing depots that are imported after this date will already be imported into your depot based on the new import logic.

When you create a new depot, your entire transaction history is updated to the latest state of development and thus also older transactions are automatically imported and correctly categorized for tax reporting purposes.

Due to the Ethereum London hardfork, there is a temporary 12-60 hour delay in importing new ERC20 transactions.

07.06.2021 Maintenance still ongoing

Please note that newly created API depots (created after 26.05.2021) may still experience longer queues and thus severely delayed transaction import.

28.05.2021 08:00 (UTC) Maintenance!

Due to the recent user growth, our web application is being updated to support scalability and optimal performance.

During this ongoing maintenance, please consider the following points:

  • All API depots will continue to show the correct amount of assets in the depot balance.

  • API Depots created after the 26.05.2021 (14:00) UTC are unaffected and will continue importing transactions.

  • Transaction imports for API depots created before the 26.05.2021 (14:00) UTC are temporarily on hold and will resume normally after the maintenance. Some users may experience duplication issues with the transactions imported after that date; our team is filtering these discrepancies and will undertake them in the maintenance process.

  • You can start fetching the missing transaction data immediately (i.e. before the maintenance is completed) by recreating the respective API depot. Please be aware of the possible longer queues.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

18.05.2021

Changes for Binance and Kraken will only be applied to transactions after 17.05.2021. If your depot is newly created afterwards, all changes are adapted to the entire available transaction history.
