How to use Filter & Sorting Options?

What are Filter and Sorting Options?

Filters and sorting options help you to analyze your integrations, transactions, and assets even more precisely. This improves the overview and is especially helpful when merginglabeling and editing transactions.

Filter option "Date"

🔎 Use the Date filter, as shown below, to limit your search to a specific period. This helps you pinpoint the source of particular notices. This is recommended if you want to find the cause of specific Tips.

Filter options "Integration", "Label" and "Asset"

🔎 The filter options IntegrationLabel (Transaction Type), and Asset are the ones you’ll use most often. It’s especially helpful to filter all transactions of a specific asset within one integration—this gives you the best basis for your analysis.

Example: Targeted search in the Bitpanda integration for the label Staking and the asset VSN to filter all VSN Staking reward.

💡 Use the Bulk Editing Function for labeling multiple transactions.

Filter option "Asset Type"

🔎 One of Blockpit’s standout features is the ability to categorize transactions by different asset classes. As shown in the example below, you can use the Asset Type filter to specifically display transactions assigned to the Derivatives asset type (e.g., the leverage token XRP2L). In addition to derivatives, you can also filter by the asset types CryptoCommodityFiat, and NFT.

Filter option "Tips"

🔎 This filter option helps you optimize and analyze your transactions based on specific Tips. Please note that filtering by Tips is only possible if Tips are actually present.

💡 When searching for "Unlabeled", we also recommend using the Filter Option "Asset Type = Crypto" to hide tax-neutral fiat deposits and withdrawals.

Filter option "View"

🔎 The View filter helps you quickly find editedexcluded or spam marked transactions. This lets you reset edited transactions or re-include excluded transactions when needed.

You can also filter by custom notes or custom values, and specifically list transactions that were auto-merged or manually merged.

▶ Edited

📝 Use the Edited filter to find transactions whose details you have modified after import. You can also identify these via the “Last Edited” field as shown in the transaction details below.

▶ Excluded

👁‍🗨 Use the Excluded filter to find transactions that were subsequently removed from the transaction list—and thus from the tax calculation—via the “Exclude Transaction” function. You can re-include them in the calculation at any time using “Include Transaction.”

▶ Merged vs Auto-Merged

✂ Merged: Transfers or Trades that were manually merged, recognizable by the chain icon "🔗" as shown below.

✂ Auto-Merged: Transfers that were automatically merged, additionally marked with an “A🔗”.

💡 Trade and Transfer transactions (except for automatically imported trades from exchange integrations) can be split back into their original parts—Unlabeled-Incoming (Deposit) and Unlabeled-Outgoing (Withdrawal)—using the “Split Transaction” function.

▶ No Fee Label

👁‍🗨 This filter temporarily hides all transactions with the “Fee” label, which is especially useful for simplifying the analysis of blockchain transactions.

Filter option "Import Type"

🔎 With the Import Type filter, you can specifically filter transactions by their import method — for example, BlockchainAPICSV, or Manual.
This is especially useful for identifying manually added transactions within exchange or wallet integrations.

Filter option "Tax Type"

🔎 This filter is only available if you have purchased the tax report for the respective tax year or period. To ensure the most up-to-date results are displayed, you must always perform a recalculation first.

On the Reports page, under Tax Results, you’ll also find direct links that let you view the related transactions by tax category (Tax Type).
