How to import data via KuCoin API key or CSV file?

How do I get my KuCoin API key?

API is the initially preferred method of integration.

If necessary, additional CSV files can be uploaded afterwards. When uploading CSV files, make sure to avoid transaction duplicates. More information on this can be found under CSV file upload.

  1. Log in to your KuCoin account.
  2. Click on the profile button in the upper-right corner and select API Management.

  3. Now click on Create API.
  4. Important: Enter a name for your API key and "blockpit" as passphrase.
  5. Grant only the General API key permission, as shown in the image below.
  6. Also select No for IP restriction.

  7. Now click Next and confirm with your trading, e-mail and 2FA codes and activate your API key.
  8. Your API key and Secret are now visible in the API-List.
Your Secret is now shown only once and available to copy!
  9. To import your data, you must first create an Integration in the Blockpit Web App.
To do so, click + Integration in the upper navigation.
  10. Select KuCoin from the list of exchanges, and then copy the API key and the Secret into the designated fields. Confirm your entries by clicking Continue.

🧮 When using subaccounts, a separate Blockpit Integration must be created for each subaccount.

💡 Tip: If you are unable to create an Integration without "Mismatched Balances" using an initial API integration and additional CSV uploads, try creating a CSV Integration first and then convert your Integration into an API Integration afterwards. In addition, use a current import start date (e.g. import time span: today's date) as a separator to avoid transaction duplicates.

Which data can be imported via KuCoin API?

Your complete transaction history always serves as the basis for your tax report. Preferably, automatic API solutions are used to import your transactions. Our team is committed to implementing all API data provided by your exchange for you.

Using the following list, you can identify all products that are implemented:

Transactions

📅 Transactions older than 365 days are not available via API.

Supported

✅ Crypto Deposits & Withdrawals
(Internal transfers to futures- and/or subaccounts [except automatically generated trading bot subaccounts] are currently imported as Unlabeled Deposits and Withdrawals. These can be merged to Transfer manually by creating a KuCoin futures account or a subaccount, or excluded from your transaction list in general.)

Fees

✅ Fees

✅ KCS (Fees, Refunds)

✅ Spot Market Trades

✅ Leveraged Token Trades

✅ Margin Trades

✅ Converts

✅ Dust

✅ KuCoin Card (Payments & Refunds)
✅ Futures Trades PnL (Profit, Loss, Fee und Funding)
Futures PnL and associated fees are only imported in full when the position is closed.

✅ Earn (Staking)

✅ Rewards & Distributions (KuCoin Event, Rewards, Airdrops)

In case of missing transactions, you can help our support team via chat-request to include them in our import spectrum (if technically possible).

Not Supported

⛔ Fiat Deposits & Withdrawals

⛔ Earn (Savings)

⛔ Trading Bot Transactions
(Trades not available via API on exchange side - Deposits and withdrawals to and from trading bot subaccount will be imported - you can link these into an Manual Integration and manually create trades in and out of Generic Tokens to complete your history)

⛔ Fast Trade / P2P / Third Party

⛔ NFTs

Missing transactions can be found by comparing the actual history of your exchange. You can then add these directly to your Blockpit Integration by subsequently uploading your CSV file (see below) or by migrating your CSV data into our Excel template.

Synced Balance

Supported

✅ All Account Balances

Temporary Mismatches

👁‍🗨 Open Futures Positions

Until closing of open futures positions, associated assets will not be fully displayed in the Synced Balance of your Blockpit integration However, this has no effect on the tax report, as no internal outflows (transactions) occur in the integration. The resulting Tip: Mismatched Balance can be ignored in this context. The “Reconcile Balance” function should not be used in this exceptional case!

If your Synced Balance is displayed incompletely, you can help our support team via chat-request to include it in our import spectrum (if technically possible).

How do I get my KuCoin CSV file?

CSV file upload: Import missing transactions directly via KuCoin CSV file

The following steps will help you to download your KuCoin CSV file and import it into your Blockpit Integration:

  1. Log into your KuCoin Account.
  2. Navigate to the Orders menu item next to your profile icon and then click on Spot Trade History.
  3. Now click on Export in at the top right.

  4. Next, select the following Markets in the sidebar.

❗ Be sure NOT to use any “Account History_” files.

❗ Be sure to deselect the sub-item “Filled Orders (Show Order Splitting)”. (Exception: Trading Bot + Spot)

❗ When using Futures products, select only the “Realized PnL” file.

  5. Then select the relevant transaction period (preferably entire tax years from January 1 to December 31) as well as the UTC-0 time zone and CSV file type, then click Confirm below.

💡 When using KuCoin subaccounts, a separate Blockpit Integration must be created for each subaccount. It is therefore best to download your subaccount CSV files separately by selecting “Includes Sub-Accounts” before uploading them to your subaccount integration.

  6. Once the file has been generated, you can download it. We also recommend renaming the file after the corresponding transaction period. (Example: History 2020-01-01 - 2020-12-31)

  7. You can now upload the file to your Blockpit Integration in the Dashboard. To do this, click on Edit / Upload CSV in the Integrations tab as shown below.

  8. Now drag the corresponding file(s) into the field displayed below and confirm your entry with Save to upload your transactions.

❗ When uploading your transactions into your Integration, the system does not check for transaction duplicates.

Transactions that already exist in your Integration must therefore be removed from the CSV file before uploading.

💡 If the upload of your original CSV file does not work, please try to update your internet browser version first or use an alternative browser to eliminate potential sources of error.
