How to activate/deactivate 2FA (two factor authentication)?

The 2-factor authentication (2FA) offers your account an additional level of security, preventing unauthorized accessing and thus protecting sensitive data even better.

Your personal 2FA code is generated with the help of a hardware or software Code-Generator and requested after entering the access data.

How to activate 2FA?

  1. To activate 2FA, click on the user icon in the upper corner.
  2. Then select Settings.
  3. Under Options you will find the selection “Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), move the toggle to the right to activate this option.

  4. Scan the new visible QR code with a 2FA app (e.g. Google Authenticator, Authy,...), insert the unique code from the app into the designated field and confirm with Continue.

  5. In the next step, it is MANDATORY to note the recovery code then confirm the checkbox "I have safely noted down this code" before clicking on "Enable" to activate 2FA for your Account.

Your recovery code is very important in case you delete your Authenticator app or lose access. Please also note that each recovery code can only be used once.

Losing the recovery code can lead to you being completely and irretrievably locked out of your Blockpit account!

After successfully setting up 2FA in Blockpit, the 2FA code is automatically requested each time you log in.
